In the July issue of Vanity Fair from July 2003 it was reported that she was one of the top teenagers of this year. In 2004, Vega made two movies, Sleepover in State's Proof and Sleepover. In the Lifetime TV film Odd Girl Out as a cyberbully, she made an appearance in 2005. In 2006 she played in a different TV movie made for television, Walkout; and finished filming Remember the Daze, which premiered in theaters with a limited release in April 2007. Repo is her swan song. The Genetic Opera, which was released in the year 2008. 10 years ago, Vega was cast as the leading character of Helix which was written and directed by Aram Rappaport. Helix began filming in Chicago at the beginning of March in 2008. Her initial role was in the Robert Rodriguez film Shorts of 2009 Robert Rodriguez film Shorts. But due to the fact that she was in Australia to film Broken Hill, the role of Vega in Shorts needed to be changed. Kat Dennings replaced her. Penny played a character played on Broadway's Hairspray.
